German painter and sculptor Georg Baselitz dies at 88
Summary: Georg Baselitz, a famous German artist, has died peacefully at age 88. Growing up in the ruins of World War II, he used his art to express the broken world around him. He was often called the "artist of rage" and became famous for painting his subjects upside down to make people think differently. Early in his career, police even confiscated some of his paintings because they thought they were too shocking. He kept challenging the art world in his paint-smudged jacket until the very end.
