Get to Know UConn Basketball Star Blanca Quiñonez’s Family

Summary: Blanca Quiñonez is a 19-year-old basketball star for the UConn Huskies. Born in Ecuador, she started playing basketball at age five. When she was only 13, she made a huge sacrifice and left her family to play in Italy. By age 15, she was playing professionally!

Blanca is very close to her family, including her parents, older brother, and twin brother, Jaime. Jaime is actually a pro soccer player, and Blanca grew up playing soccer just so she could spend more time with him. In 2024, she decided to play college basketball in the U.S., making history as the first South American player ever to join UConn.
