GLP-1 RAs May Reduce Fracture Risk in MASH
Summary: People with a liver condition called MASH often have weaker bones and a higher chance of breaking them. A new study looked at patients with MASH who take GLP-1 medicines, which are popular drugs used for treating diabetes and weight loss. The study found that taking these medicines actually helped protect their bones! Patients using GLP-1s had a much lower risk of breaking their hips, pelvis, or ribs compared to those not taking the medicine. Doctors think these medicines might be a great way to keep bones safe and strong for high-risk patients.
