High Dose Wegovy Injection Approved for Chronic Weight Management

Summary: The FDA just approved a new, super-strong version of the weight-loss drug Wegovy, called Wegovy HD. It has a 7.2mg dose, which is three times higher than the old maximum dose of 2.4mg. In studies, people taking Wegovy HD lost about 21% of their body weight, compared to 17.5% on the regular dose. To get it, patients must first try the lower dose for at least four weeks to make sure their bodies can handle it. Side effects can include nausea, stomach pain, and sensitive skin. It will be available in pharmacies in April.
