How Much Screen Time Is Too Much For Adults?
Summary: Did you know there are no official screen time limits for adults? Even though we set strict rules for kids, adults spend an average of over six and a half hours a day staring at screens. During the pandemic, some people even hit 17 hours a day! Doctors warn that too much screen time can cause serious health problems. Sitting and scrolling all day increases your risk for high blood pressure, obesity, and depression. It also causes neck pain, eye strain, and bad sleep.
Not all screen time is bad—using your phone for an exercise video is great. But to get healthier, experts suggest turning off unneeded notifications, keeping phones out of the bedroom, and stopping screen use two hours before bed. Most importantly, don't ignore the people around you just to look at your device!
