How to Get a Bigger Chest and Improve Your Posture While Doing It
Summary: Do you love bench pressing? You're not alone! Even rapper Kanye West once joked about hitting the gym "all chest, no legs." But building a bigger chest isn't just about looking good in a t-shirt. Having strong chest muscles actually improves your posture, boosts your metabolism, and makes everyday tasks like opening heavy doors or washing your hair much easier.
Your chest is made of two main muscles working together: the large "pectoralis major" and the smaller, triangle-shaped "pectoralis minor" hidden underneath it. These muscles are super important because they stabilize your shoulder joints.
To make your chest grow safely, personal trainer Farren Morgan says you need to be smart. Don't lift too heavy too fast, and never lift your hips off the bench, or your whole upper body could seize up in pain! A great weekly routine includes incline push-ups, flat bench presses, regular push-ups, and chest dips. Just remember to start with lighter weights (doing 8 to 12 reps), get at least seven hours of sleep, and don't forget to work out your back and legs, too!
