Immunological activity of peach pectins: Insights from cells to animals.
Summary: Pectins are natural, safe fibers found in fruits. This study looked at pectins from peaches to see if they can help our immune system. Researchers tested three different types of peach pectin on mouse cells and on live mice that had weakened immune systems. They found that one specific type, called SSP, worked the best. It helped cells fight off threats, reduced harmful stress in the cells, and helped sick mice regain their weight and healthy blood cells. Overall, peach pectin could be a great new ingredient for healthy foods that protect and boost our immune system!
