Impact of Acute In-Hospital Postburn Pruritus on Quality of Life: A Cross-Sectional Study.
Summary: Itching after a burn is a very common problem, but it can make healing much harder. In a study of 268 adult burn patients, doctors found that those with worse burns had more severe itching. This intense itching led to longer hospital stays and a much lower quality of life. The study shows that if doctors treat severe itching early, patients might heal faster and go home sooner.
