Impact of Relaxation and Music Intervention on Psychological and Gastrointestinal Health in Military Recruits: A Prospective Study.
Summary: Did you know that your brain and your belly are closely connected? When people feel stressed or sad, they often get tummy aches. A new study looked at 623 military recruits to see if relaxing could help their stomachs. For four weeks, the recruits listened to calming music and practiced muscle relaxation. The results were great! The recruits felt less anxious and less sad. Even better, most of their stomach problems, like pain and constipation, went away. The only thing it didn't help was diarrhea. This shows that taking time to relax your mind can also heal your gut!
