Increase of Dengue in Pediatric Travelers in Madrid: A Multicentric Retrospective Experience.
Summary: Dengue fever is a sickness you get from mosquito bites. It is spreading to new places, even where it didn't used to be. Doctors in Madrid, Spain, looked at children who caught dengue while traveling over the last ten years. They found 46 kids with the sickness, and most of them got it in the last three years. Many of these kids were traveling to visit family or friends. All the kids had a fever, and most had upset stomachs. A few kids got very sick. Because more people are traveling and the weather is changing, doctors need to watch out for dengue to help keep kids safe.
