Influence of three coded healing abutment design on intraoral scan accuracy: a comparative in vitro study.

Summary: Dentists use special caps called "healing abutments" to help gums heal after placing a dental implant. These caps also help the dentist take a 3D digital picture of your mouth to make the final fake tooth. This study tested three different brands of these caps to see which one takes the clearest and most accurate 3D picture.

The researchers used a fake jaw with four implants to test the brands. They found that the "iPhysio" brand was the most accurate and gave the best results. They also learned that the pictures were harder to get right in the back of the mouth, no matter the brand. Overall, the iPhysio brand worked the best for getting a perfect fit!
