Inhibition of the ISG15 prevents inflammation-dependent ovarian aging.

Summary: As women get older, their ovaries age too, which can make it hard to have a baby. A big reason for this aging is swelling, or inflammation, inside the body. Scientists found a specific gene called ISG15 that causes this swelling in the ovaries. When they turned off this gene in older female mice, the mice had healthier ovaries, better eggs, and less swelling. This discovery is exciting because it might lead to new treatments to help women stay fertile longer as they age!
