Insulin, Vitamin E, and Valbenazine Effective for Tardive Dyskinesia Treatments

Summary: Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a frustrating condition caused by taking certain mental health medicines, like antipsychotics, for a long time. It causes uncontrollable, repeating movements in the face and body. This can make daily life, physical activities, and social interactions very difficult. Because these twitches and movements are so visible, they can severely hurt a person's public image and self-confidence.

Finding a good treatment has always been hard. However, a recent review of 33 studies looked at 24 different options to see what actually works. The results showed that Vitamin E, insulin, and a medication called valbenazine (80 mg) are highly effective at reducing these unwanted movements. Doctors note that valbenazine and deutetrabenazine have the strongest proof for helping patients regain control of their bodies.
