Integrated discomfort modelling of combined noise and vibration exposure in turbofan aircraft cabin.
Summary: Have you ever felt annoyed by the loud sounds and shaking on an airplane? Scientists wanted to find out exactly how noise and vibration make passengers uncomfortable. They put 26 people in a special simulator that shakes and plays airplane sounds just like a real flight. They found that sometimes, the shaking actually makes the loud noises bother you less! Other times, the noise changes how much the shaking bothers you. By putting all this information together, they made a math tool that helps airplane builders figure out the best ways to make your next flight much more comfortable.
