Intensive Care Infection Score (ICIS) is an Early Marker for Infection in Time of Admission to Intensive Care Units.
Summary: When people get very sick and go to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), catching an infection can be very dangerous. Doctors need a quick way to know if a patient has an infection right when they arrive. This study looked at a new tool called the Intensive Care Infection Score (ICIS). They tested 102 patients and found that ICIS was better than other tests at spotting infections early. It is fast, cheap, and very accurate. If a patient's score is 4 or higher, doctors know they likely have an infection and can start treating them right away.
