International Certification on Infectious Substances shipping strengthens Mexico’s preparedness and response to mass gathering events and public health threats
Summary: Mexico is getting ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and that means preparing for more than just soccer! With huge crowds coming from all over the world, there is a higher risk of spreading diseases. To keep everyone safe, 48 health professionals in Mexico just completed special training from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). They earned an international certification on how to safely pack and ship dangerous infectious samples. This ensures that if a new virus or disease pops up during the games, scientists can quickly and safely test it without putting the public at risk.
