International prevalence and associated factors of parental vaccine hesitancy in human papillomavirus vaccination: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Summary: The HPV vaccine is a powerful tool to prevent cervical cancer and other diseases, but many parents are unsure about giving it to their kids. A massive new study looked at over 200,000 parents from 13 countries to understand this problem. It found that about 40% of parents hesitate to get their children vaccinated against HPV. Why? Many worry the vaccine isn't safe, don't see the benefits, or don't trust the healthcare system. Misinformation also plays a big role. To protect more kids, doctors and leaders urgently need to build trust, clear up false fears about the vaccine's safety, and make it easier for families to get the shot.
