Jesy Nelson shares adorable video of Story Monroe after devastating SMA Type 1 diagnosis
Summary: Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson recently shared a sweet video of her baby daughter, Story Monroe. In January, Jesy revealed the sad news that her twin daughters, Story and Ocean, have a serious health condition called SMA Type 1 (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). Without early treatment, babies with this disease usually do not live past age two. Jesy's mom first noticed the twins weren't moving their legs much, though doctors initially thought it was just because they were born early.
Now, Jesy is fighting for the NHS to add a simple £1 test for SMA to the standard newborn heel prick test. She believes catching the disease early could have saved her daughters' leg movement by getting them treatment right away. Even though Jesy left Little Mix in 2020 and hasn't spoken much to her former bandmates, Leigh-Anne recently shared that the whole group reached out to support Jesy during this heartbreaking time.
