Lifyorli Plus Nab-Paclitaxel Approved for Platinum-Resistant Ovarian Cancer

Summary: The FDA just approved a new treatment combination for a tough type of ovarian cancer that doesn't respond well to standard drugs. The new daily pill, called Lifyorli, is taken alongside a chemotherapy drug called nab-paclitaxel. In a large study, women taking this new tag-team treatment lived significantly longer (16 months on average) compared to those who only took the chemotherapy drug (about 12 months). It also helped keep the cancer from growing for a longer period. Lifyorli works by blocking certain hormones in the body. Common side effects include feeling tired, nausea, and low blood cell counts.
