Melorheostosis: A Systematic Review of Clinical Manifestations, Diagnostic Challenges, Therapeutic Strategies, and Physiotherapeutic Interventions.
Summary: Melorheostosis is a very rare bone disease. It is often called "candle wax" disease because of how the bones look on an X-ray. It causes thick bones, pain, stiff joints, and bent limbs. Doctors have a hard time diagnosing and treating it. A new review looked at 423 patients to see what helps the most. They found that surgery can fix bad bone shapes, but the problems often come back. The best way to help patients feel better and move easier is a mix of pain medicine and physical therapy.
