Message from the Director - continuing sexual and reproductive health and rights progress in turbulent times

Summary: The World Health Organization (WHO) is fighting to protect sexual and reproductive health and rights during tough global times. Even though science is sometimes ignored and women's bodies are heavily debated in politics, the WHO is pushing forward. Recently, they released major medical guidelines to stop postpartum bleeding (a top cause of maternal death), manage diabetes during pregnancy, and treat infertility.

They are working hard to turn this medical evidence into real-world action, especially in areas facing conflict or money struggles. Despite funding challenges and political pushback, the WHO promises to stand firm for science, human rights, and global health equity.
