Modified ab-externo scleral fixation method for dislocated scleral fixated intraocular lenses.

Summary: When an artificial lens stitched inside the eye slips out of place, surgeons traditionally have to make a large cut to remove and replace it—a traumatic process for the eye. A new "closed-globe" technique changes the game. Surgeons can now fish the lens support loop (haptic) out through a tiny incision, re-stitch it, and slide it back into place without opening the eye wide. This method offers a stable fix with less tissue damage and a much faster recovery for the patient.
