More Than 4 in 10 Adults Not Up to Date on Measles Vaccine

Summary: A new study shows that more than 4 out of 10 adults do not have their latest measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccines. Even more surprising, 1 in 4 adults have never even heard of the MMR vaccine! People who are male, African American, Hispanic, or who do not have a regular doctor are less likely to have their shots.

But there is good news: many of these adults said they would be happy to get the vaccine while visiting the emergency room. Doctors think the ER could be a great place to help people catch up on important shots they might otherwise miss.
