Mortality Risk Steadily Declines for Long-Term Ovarian Cancer Survivors
Summary: Good news for ovarian cancer survivors! A new study shows that patients with a serious type of ovarian cancer who stay cancer-free for seven years have the same life expectancy as the general public. Researchers looked at over 2,000 patients treated over 30 years and found that survival rates have gotten much better since the 1990s. Because these patients are living so much longer, doctors say we need to focus more on their long-term quality of life and follow-up care.
