Most Oncologists Surveyed Would Prescribe Hormonal Therapy After CRT for Cervical Cancer

Summary: When women are treated for cervical cancer with chemotherapy and radiation, the intense treatment often causes sudden menopause. A recent survey found that nearly all gynecologic cancer doctors (99%) and many radiation doctors (74%) are willing to prescribe hormone therapy to help patients deal with this. They usually recommend a mix of estrogen and progesterone.

However, some doctors admit they don't prescribe it as often as they should. Why? Some worry about managing the hormones long-term, and others actually don't realize that official guidelines for prescribing them already exist!
