Nonlinear Associations of Accelerometer-Based Sedentary Time With Cognitive Functions in the UK Biobank.
Summary: Sitting down a lot is often thought of as bad for your brain. But a new study of over 32,000 older adults found a surprising twist! Using fitness trackers, researchers saw that resting for up to 10 to 12 hours a day was actually linked to slightly sharper thinking skills. However, sitting for more than 12 hours caused those brain benefits to stop or even drop. It turns out, a little rest is fine, but too much sitting is still a bad idea!
