NWSL’S Seattle Reign FC participate in Hands-Only CPR and AED training

Summary: The Seattle Reign FC and the entire National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) are teaming up with the American Heart Association to learn Hands-Only CPR and how to use AEDs. Sudden cardiac arrest is very dangerous. In fact, nearly 9 out of 10 people die if it happens outside a hospital, mostly because they don't get CPR fast enough. But starting CPR right away can double or triple a person's chance of living.

The NWSL is making history as the first American pro sports league to train all its players, coaches, and staff in this lifesaving skill. The push for this training was started by Savy King, a soccer player who actually survived cardiac arrest. Hands-Only CPR is super easy to do: just call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest. It only takes 90 seconds to learn, which is faster than a halftime break!
