Ocrelizumab Superior for Delaying Disability Progression in Primary Progressive MS

Summary: A new study shows that a medicine called ocrelizumab can help people with a severe type of multiple sclerosis (MS) called primary progressive MS. Doctors found that this drug slows down the disease, even in older patients or those who already have more disabilities. It is especially good at helping people keep the use of their hands and arms. This is very important because it helps patients stay independent and do everyday tasks like eating or getting dressed. The study showed a 30% drop in the risk of the disease getting worse compared to a fake pill, and up to a 55% drop for some patients. The safety of the drug was also very good.
