On ARGs, pedigrees, and genetic relatedness matrices.
Summary: Imagine trying to figure out how everyone in a huge city is related to each other. Normally, doing this math takes way too much time and computer power because you have to compare every single person to everyone else. Scientists have a new way to map out family trees using something called an Ancestral Recombination Graph (ARG). By looking at the "branches" of these giant family trees, they created a super-fast math shortcut. Now, instead of computers crashing, they can easily figure out the genetic links between millions of people all at once!
