One-Year Clinical Outcomes of Water Vapor Thermal Therapy for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: A Single-Center Experience of 52 Patients.

Summary: As men get older, their prostate gland can grow larger, which makes it hard to pee. This condition is called BPH. Doctors now have a quick new treatment that uses water vapor (steam) to shrink the prostate. A clinic in Japan tested this steam treatment on 52 men. The actual surgery took only 3 minutes! After one year, the men still felt much better, peed more easily, and had smaller prostates. The treatment was very safe. A few men who had very large prostates had to go back on their medicine, but overall, the steam therapy was a huge success.
