OsRF2b interacting with OsbZIP61 modulates nitrogen use efficiency and grain yield via heterodimers in rice.

Summary: Nitrogen is like food for plants, helping them grow big and strong. Scientists found two "bossy" parts in rice plants, called OsRF2b and OsbZIP61. These parts work together to stop the plant from using its nitrogen food well. When the plant can't use nitrogen properly, it grows smaller and makes less rice. But, when scientists turned off the OsRF2b part, the rice plant grew taller, used its food much better, and made a lot more rice! This amazing discovery could help farmers grow bigger and better rice crops in the future to feed more people.
