Outcomes of Metacarpal Fracture Fixation With Intramedullary Nails: A Systematic Review.

Summary: Breaking a bone in your hand can make it hard to do everyday things. Doctors often use a special metal rod, called a nail, placed inside the bone to fix it and help it heal. A new study looked at over 700 patients who had this surgery for broken hand bones. The results were great! Patients got almost all of their grip strength back, their bones healed straight, and they had very little pain. Most people were back to work in about eight weeks. Overall, this surgery is a safe and highly helpful way to fix broken hands.
