Outdoor temperature as a confounder of blood pressure in randomized trials.
Summary: Did you know that the weather outside can affect your blood pressure? A recent study looked at how temperature changes might accidentally mess up the results of medical tests. Researchers checked 190 blood pressure readings and found that when it gets colder outside, blood pressure goes up a little bit. When it gets warmer, blood pressure goes down. Indoor temperatures didn't make much of a difference because they stay pretty much the same. The researchers think outdoor temperature might also be linked to air pollution. They suggest that future medical studies should always keep track of the weather to get the most accurate results!
