P2IFormer: A Multi-Granularity Patch-to-Image Embedding Model for Fault Diagnosis of High-Speed Train Axle-Box Bearings.

Summary: High-speed trains rely on strong wheel bearings to keep moving safely. Over time, heavy use can cause these parts to wear out and break. To catch these problems early, scientists created a smart computer program called P2IFormer. It listens to the vibrations of the train and turns those sounds into pictures. By looking at these pictures in different sizes, the program can spot tiny, hidden clues of damage. Tests show this new tool is over 99.5% accurate at finding faults, making train rides much safer!
