Paediatric and adolescent fertility preservation procedural training and service provision: A qualitative study exploring views of clinicians in Australia and New Zealand.

Summary: When children and teens face serious illnesses like cancer, the treatments can sometimes make it hard for them to have babies when they grow up. To help, doctors try to save their reproductive tissue before treatment starts. This is called fertility preservation.

A new study talked to 18 doctors and lab workers in Australia and New Zealand to see how they can do this better. The experts said surgeons need more training on how to safely remove and store the tissue. Lab workers also asked for training on how to talk to grieving families. Everyone agreed that a team approach with clear rules is the best way to help these young patients get the best care possible.
