PAHO signs agreement to reserve pandemic influenza vaccine supply for Latin America and the Caribbean
Summary: The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) just made a huge deal to protect Latin America and the Caribbean from future flu pandemics. They teamed up with a vaccine company called CSL Seqirus. Because of the hard lessons learned during COVID-19, this agreement guarantees that these countries will get a reserved share of flu vaccines if a new pandemic hits.
Part of the vaccines will even be made locally in Argentina by Sinergium Biotech. This means middle-income countries won't have to wait at the back of the line for life-saving medicine. By working together, the region is ready to face future health threats like avian flu.
