PAHO/WHO and OECS to convene regional workshop to strengthen access to medicines and health technologies in the Eastern Caribbean
Summary: Getting affordable medicines to small islands in the Eastern Caribbean can be tough. High shipping costs and supply chain problems often lead to medicine shortages. To fix this, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) are teaming up. They are holding a joint workshop in Saint Lucia in May 2026 to launch a new action plan. By working together to buy medicines in bulk and improve supply chains, they aim to make sure everyone in the region has reliable access to the treatments they need.
