Physicians like AI—but not the tech their practices are using

Summary: Doctors actually really like Artificial Intelligence (AI), but they hate how their bosses are handling it. A new survey of 1,000 doctors found that most of them use AI every week and think it helps them do a better job. In fact, 78% believe AI will make patients healthier in the next ten years.

However, 81% are unhappy with how their hospitals are bringing AI into the workplace. Doctors say they have no say in the process. Sometimes, new tools just magically appear on their computer records without any warning! Also, many doctors are frustrated that hospital leaders talk about AI but move too slowly to actually let them use it. Doctors really want AI to help with typing notes and doing paperwork. But they also worry about getting stuck in a legal trap: getting sued if the AI makes a mistake, or getting sued for not using AI if something goes wrong. Right now, the only doctors happy with AI are the ones who run their own private practices.
