‘Portfolio assessment’ prompts Ferring to terminate 2 fertility trials

Summary: Ferring Pharmaceuticals is a big company that makes medicine to help people have babies. Recently, they stopped two large studies that were testing a new drug combination to help women get pregnant. They had already signed up 416 patients! The company said the drugs are safe, but they are just changing their business plans.

This news comes after Ferring laid off 500 workers and stopped other projects, like a study for male fertility and a medicine for breast milk production. Even though they are canceling these new research projects, Ferring is still making record money. They made over 2.5 billion euros recently, mostly from their famous older fertility drug, Menopur.
