Process optimization and scale-up of high-efficient biosynthesis for recombinant collagen-elastin fusion protein.
Summary: Collagen and elastin are natural proteins that keep our skin and tissues stretchy and strong. Scientists have combined them into a new "super protein" that helps heal injuries and regrow tissue. The hardest part has been figuring out how to make enough of it for real-world medical use. In this study, researchers created special bacteria that act like tiny factories to pump out this super protein. By carefully tweaking the conditions in a large 5-liter tank, they found the perfect recipe to make a huge amount of it—nearly 5 grams per liter! This big step means we can soon make enough of this healing protein to help patients.
