Quality of life and the associated factors among postmenopausal women during the COVID-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study.
Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic was hard on everyone, but how did it affect older women? Researchers in Thailand asked 453 women who had gone through menopause about their lives during the pandemic. They found that more than half of these women (about 56%) felt they had a poor quality of life. Women who moved less, had worse menopause symptoms, or felt unhappy struggled the most. On the bright side, women who had more education, started menopause earlier, or enjoyed a drink with friends now and then felt better. This shows that doctors need to care for both the mind and body of women going through menopause, especially during tough times.
