Resident Case Series: The Utility of the Athletic Shoulder Test Using Wireless Portable Force Plates for Measuring Peak Force in NCAA Division One Collegiate Quarterbacks.

Summary: Quarterbacks throw the football a lot, which puts heavy stress on their shoulders and can lead to injuries. Doctors and coaches need a reliable way to test shoulder strength to keep players healthy. In this study, researchers tested three college quarterbacks using the "Athletic Shoulder" (ASH) test. They used special wireless plates to measure how hard the players could push their arms in "Y" and "T" shapes. They found that the throwing arm was stronger than the non-throwing arm, and players could push harder in the "Y" position. This quick test is a great tool to track shoulder strength during the season, helping coaches adjust workouts and prevent injuries before they happen!
