Review: The new M5 MacBook Air is incredible. I wish it was $200 cheaper.
Summary: Apple's new M5 MacBook Air is an amazing laptop, but it might actually be too powerful for its own good. It is incredibly thin and light, yet it performs almost exactly like the much more expensive MacBook Pro. It easily handles heavy tasks like video editing and gaming without even breaking a sweat.
The catch? The starting price went up to $1,099. Even though it comes with more storage (512GB) and memory (16GB), that price tag is a lot for everyday users like college students. Unless you are a hardcore professional, you don't really need all this power. The best advice is to save your money and buy the older M4 MacBook Air while it is still on sale for $899, or wait until the M5 model gets a price drop during a future sale.
