Safety and efficacy of first-line nivolumab plus chemotherapy for HER2-negative advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma: real-world data analysis.

Summary: Stomach cancer is a tough disease, especially when it has spread to other parts of the body. Recently, doctors looked at real-world results for a treatment that combines a newer drug called nivolumab with standard chemotherapy. They gave this combination to 136 patients with advanced stomach cancer.

The results were very hopeful! Over half of the patients saw their tumors shrink, and in 10% of cases, the tumors disappeared completely. The study also found that patients lived much longer when their tumors shrank quickly and deeply. This shows that adding nivolumab to chemotherapy is a strong and promising treatment for advanced stomach cancer outside of just clinical trials.
