Seroprevalence of tick-borne diseases in Europe in occupational settings: A systematic review and metanalysis.
Summary: Ticks carry diseases that can make people very sick. Because ticks are spreading to new areas, people who work outside or with animals have a higher risk of getting bitten. This study looked at different jobs in Europe to see who gets tick-borne diseases the most. They found that forestry workers and farmers have the highest risk. For example, 26% of forestry workers and 18% of farmers showed signs of past tick infections. Dairy and livestock workers also had very high rates of a specific germ. To keep workers safe, we need better prevention, like wearing protective clothes, checking for ticks, and teaching people about the risks.
