Single cell RNAseq to identify subpopulations of glial progenitors in iPSC-derived oligodendroglial lineage cultures.
Summary: Scientists have a hard time growing specific brain cells called oligodendrocytes from human stem cells because the cells often turn into a mixed group instead of just one type. In this study, researchers used a special tool to look at the genes of single cells. They discovered different types of early brain cells mixed in. By sorting them out, they learned how each type grows and changes. This gives scientists a great new way to study how brain cells develop in the lab.
