Spherical multigrid neural operator for improving autoregressive global weather forecasting.
Summary: Predicting the weather for the whole globe is hard. New computer models are fast but get confused by the Earth's round shape, making mistakes over time. Older fixes for this are too slow and use too much computer power. Scientists made a new tool called SMgNO. It mixes different ways of looking at the Earth's grid to fix the round-shape problem. It uses way less computer memory and power. Plus, it is much better at guessing the weather 7 days out!
