Spoiler Space: The entities lurking inside the Backrooms have always been its weakness

Summary: The new Backrooms movie makes a big mistake: it shows the monster too much. The original creepy internet story was scary because it was about being trapped in an endless, empty maze where you never really saw what was chasing you. But in the movie, the main character is chased by a giant pirate version of himself. This is supposed to show his sadness over his divorce, but it just looks silly. Instead of feeling like a scary nightmare, it turns into a goofy monster movie. The fear of the unknown is what makes liminal horror work, and this movie forgets that.
