‘Strikingly better’: Co-antibody combination tops golimumab, guselkumab in refractory IBD
Summary: A new treatment is showing great promise for people with tough-to-treat Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Doctors tested a new medicine called JNJ-4804, which combines two different drugs (golimumab and guselkumab) into a single dose. The study found that this two-in-one combo worked much better than using just one drug, especially for patients who hadn't had success with past treatments. It helped heal the gut and reduce symptoms without causing extra safety risks. Because of these striking results, researchers are moving forward with larger trials.
