Stroke Deaths Profile and Its Subtypes in Brazil: Analysis Using Machine Learning.
Summary: Brazil has a very high rate of stroke deaths. To understand why, researchers used smart computer programs (called machine learning) to look at over 2.4 million stroke deaths from 2000 to 2019. They found that most stroke deaths weren't clearly labeled by their exact type. When they were labeled, bleeding strokes were linked to high blood pressure and often happened in younger people. Blocked blood vessel strokes were linked to breathing and heart problems, mostly in people 60 and older. This computer tool can help doctors better understand and correctly label stroke deaths in the future!
